Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Static and Dynamic page scraper

Both tools allow you to download content from any URL.

The Static scraper is easier to use as all you need to do is provide a URL and the App will download the content to your hard drive.

The limitation however is that the Static scraper will not work for sites that display content dynamically. eg Travel package sites, flight price trackers etc.

It will work very well for static sites like wikipedia.com

For a site that load content dynamically, you will have to use the Dynamic page scraper.

This tool loads the target page in a browser and you use a picker tool to select elements on the live site.

It takes slightly more setup time, however it is your only option when trying to scrape complex sites like Facebook, Twitter etc
